ragdoll designs

so. one day. a week or two ago? i decided that i would make ragdoll charcters.

not only that, but have their names be based on mental facilities. haha.

i have my heart set on actually MAKING these ragdolls. because... i lvoe ragdolls, though i've never had that many.

about the names:

madeline agnews: well, first i kinda wanted a chara witht he name maddy. so. i chose madeline for a whole first name. then i searched for a mental hospital here in california. WHA HEY. i found one. it is called the agnews insane asylum.

Oh. and you'll notice that maddy has a clock on the front of her dress in a few drawings. that's because in the agnews asylum, there is a clock tower. i THINK i read somewhere that it is symetrical.. the whole building.. where the clock tower is, and it was also where patients were treated. and another fun fact! in 1906 there was an earthquake which caused the clock tower to collapse, killing 112 patients/doctors/people. they are burried on the property in a mass grave.

ezra bellevue: obviously named after the infamous bellevue hospital in new york. i was watchign law and order and they sent someone there, and i thought that mr. bellevue would be a cool name. and to be fair, i wanted mr. bellevue to have a fist name like maddy did. and then a commercial came on and the person said their name was ezra, right as i was thingking that mr. bellevue needed a name... so. i picked it.

maddy is a new doll. mr. bellevue is quite old.

mr. bellevue was a little girl's doll a long time ago. the girl also had a girl doll and she took both of them everywhere. the little girl got sick/crazy (( i can't decide if i should make her go insane, or die froma sickness )) either way, she had the girl doll with her, and in a fit, tore her to pieces. Mr. bellevue was left in the attic alone. many years later, another little girl came into the attic looking for toys. this little girl was the other girl's grand-neice. she had maddy with her. and while looking for toys and such, left maddy in the attic. and because everyone knows toys come to life when people leave... maddy made friends with mr. bellevue, who hadn't seen anyone in years because he was infact the only toy in the attic. which is why his clothes are also older style than maddy's. you see in the bottom picture? where he is handing maddy a dress? it is infact the other girldoll's dress, and older style black dress.

oh yeah.. if you couldn't tell, mr. bellevue is worn and old, his hair is fallign out, is quite dirty. and based on dark colours.


haha i wrote a lot. btu i don't care. i love these guys.
