List eight themes/ideas/concepts that recur in your stories/writing/drawings/comics.

1. Moths
Moths are in nearly everything i draw as of late. i'm not sure excactly WHY, but something about being dull coloured yet still something incredibly gorgeous is very appealing. i'm sure there's something more subconscious to what moths and the wings represent, but i can't think of it.

2. Goths
LOL I RHYMED A BIT? i have such a fascination with subcultures. like... why they exist, how does one identify with any given subculture and the subcultures within THAT, why do people attatch certain stigmas to them? etc. my favorite subculture thing is "goth" because i relate to it a lot i guess. all that black and spiderwebs makes me all happy on the inside. not to mention i love making fun of people and goths are quite an easy target. i also got this way mostly because of VOLTAIRE, that awesome comicbook artist. he made fun of goths in a way that inspired me soooo. since i listen to a lot of industrial/ebm there are a lot of "cyber goth" themes in a handful of my characters

3. Black Black
i need my balcks to be black. i actually prefer all blacks to never have shading or highlights. i want them BLACKEST BLACK. you'll notice a good portion of the time, moko's ears and tail do not have shading. i enjoy even in photography for there to be a lot of blackblack for a very graphic feel. usually the only time i avoid making blackest black is when it would make it hard to "see" the picture or if the picture doesn't have a lot of other shading to it (( ie: a black shirt will likely have shading if there;s not much else to the drawing )).

the phrase "i'm only wearing black until they make something darker" comes to mind...

4. MUSIC
oh, this is a big theme. for without music, i doubt i'd be drawing much if at all. a GOOD CHUNK of my characters would not exist if it weren't for music (( nemo(and therefore all other moth/wolf charcters i have), hope, dream destructor, "the technicolour nightmare", itchi, injektilo, symbolo... etcetcetc. )) soemthing about relating to lyrics and the way the music makes me feel, the colours i see, i can put them into a drawing. i think my music inspired drawings look so much better and fuller than just random drawings. MUSIC=LIFE

5. Rainbows
and as much as i love black, i love rainbows too. as much as i want black blacks, i want bright rainbows. since i was five i've said "i like all the bright rainbow colours and black". that quote was even in the kindergarten yearbook-thing. it's not because i'm a lesbian, it's not coz i'm bi, and it's definately not because i'm a raver. rainbows stand for diversity and an appreciation for the differences in everyone. which seems totally wrong that everybody skews rainbows to mean somethign negative with the "gay" stuff. fuck that. it;s about bright colours and happy things. YEAH. *cheesy* plus, rainbows remind me of being a kid and that's something i always want to be.

6. Illness (( mental or otherwise.. ))
i am sooo fascinated by why people go crazy. why are they considered crazy? what makes people get sick? why does lack of oxygen during birth cause cerebral paulsy? why aren't the same in-womb breathign functions being used until you are completely born? why is "skitzo" cool? does everybody have an illness? these things just run through my head soooo often. a lot of my characters have things like that wrong with them. a lot of them very simple like depression. some very obscure like lithopedian (stone child/calcified pregnancy). even my ragdoll charcters are named after mental institutions. i guess i think having things "wrong" with you makes you more interesting. sometimes i wish i had soemthing because i feel painfully healthy and normal. i never even had allergies until this year. so... having characters who have major illnesses really.. really is interesting to me.

7. Keys
KEYS. I COLLECT KEYS. keys can have meaning too. because even though a lot of keys no longer have any use and have mostly been forgotten someone can find them to be precious. their designs can be so simplistic to horrendously complex. and it's AWESOME. aaghh. keys are just one of the coolest things on the planet.

8. Stars
i ADORE stars. real stars, fake stars, glow stars, drawn stars, paper stars. if it is star-like... i love it. i love being outside at night and just looking at the stars. and since i can't always be outside looking at stars, my ceiling is covered with glow stars. i can't think of anything that they really mean but how can you not love stars? i love simple symbols as well, and stars are just about the best simple symbol, coz real stars look nothing like that yet everyone knows what they are.
